Creating Sacred Art Symbols

The course covers a basic understanding of what makes art sacred, how to use color, sacred geo-metric shapes and intention to create a healing symbol. You will learn how to use sacred symbols as meditation/healing tools for yourself and others.

First Session: The first part of the course gives back-ground education about sacred art throughout history and will give you the tools and skills neces-sary to create your own symbol. You will learn how to use a compass and straight edge to create sa-cred geometric shapes and you will practice techniques using colored pencils to shade and ren-der images.

Second Session: The second part of the course will be devoted to accessing a healing symbol through meditation, and creating a final drawing
of the symbol. You will have the option of laminating the final artwork.

No prior art experience is necessary. Students will be required to bring a pencil, straight edge and com-pass. Please come to class with a clear intention about one of the following: What I would like to heal within myself (grief, anger, fear, old attitudes or be-liefs, etc.), or what I would like to create more of (joy, love, money, peace of mind, etc.).

Dates (Two 3-hour sessions): Saturday & Sunday, March 12 & 13.
Time: 2:00-5:00 pm. Fee: $120.
