Tuesday, Jan 13 -- Reunion for those who attended the 2008 Series, Introduction for those who postponed until the new year, all welcome.

Stress, Hormonal Changes, Metabolism and the Need to Detox Series

What: A 6-week Series Beginning November 4, 2008, led by Vivien Schapera

Time: 6:30pm. – 8:30pm.                      Tuition: $120

Purpose: A Study Group seeking information to support the process of detoxing, losing weight and making lifestyle changes to regain vigorous health

Structure: Each week will have main topics around which there will be: Presentation of information, explanations, sharing of information, opportunities to work on self, Q & A, problem-solving, confronting fears, busting myths, empowerment and support.

The series will be organic and responsive to flow. The following is a sample breakdown, which may be altered in the light of what actually happens in each session, what questions get asked and what needs rise to the surface.

Week1             How to get into “good blood sugar.”
                        Breaking free of addictions, including identifying addictions
                        Dealing with Insulin Resistance
                        Getting started on the Detox Program
                        Foods to eat, foods to avoid

Week 2            Identifying Stress in Your Life
                        Managing the stress in your life
                        Lifestyle Changes

Week 3            Where does the toxicity come from?
                        Environmental toxins
                        Emotional toxins
                        The Liver

Week 4            Metabolic disruption
                        Adrenals, thyroid, pituitary and pineal glands
                        The role of supplements
                        More foods to eat

Week 5            Exercise, Rest and Sleep
                        Dealing with your ‘exercise personality’
                        Dealing with sleep problems
                        More lifestyle changes
