FAQ’S (Frequently Asked Questions)
Why did you change the name of the event? Too many people didn't understand the nature of our fabulous metaphysical fusion expo, and so we have changed the name to better reflect that this is an event for EVERYONE with metaphysical interests. We are featuring an array of fabulous speakers in the fields of Crystals, Shamanism and Energy Healing among other topics.
What type of classes and workshops will be offered? In 2010 we will be offering 3 tracks of classes: Crystals, Shamanism and Energy Healing. We already have 3 fabulous new keynote classes planned to lead these tracks:
Naisha Ahsian, author of The Book of Stones, will be teaching about crystals in her workshop: “The Physics of Vibrational Healing & Crystals”;
Vivien Schapera, founder and chairperson of FourWinds Academy and co-founder with Neil Schapera of the Alexander Technique of Cincinnati, noted author of Everyday Magic and Lose Weight and Gain Money (with Drew Logan), and chair of the Midwest Crystal & Healing Energy Event, will be teaching a workshop on “Healing the Second Chakra”.
Barbara Starke, national Healing Touch teacher, will be teaching Healing Touch techniques, and C.E.U. credits will be available for nurses and LMT's.
How can I become a sponsor of the MC&HEE? If you would like to be a sponsor of our event, please contact Vivien at info@4windsacademy.org with "sponsor" in the title. Sponsors can choose their booth location and get their logos on our marketing materials.
How do I become a vendor? If you would like to be a vendor at our event, a $100 deposit will secure your booth. Many of you request end caps, and these always go first, so again, don't delay in responding to info@4windsacademy.org with "vendor" in the title.
How would I become a presenter?
How much is a Single Afternoon Workshop? A Keynote? The Full Package?
Your first individual afternoon workshop is $30, which includes free weekend admission to the Expo. Subsequent individual afternoon workshops are $20 each.
A Single Keynote is $65. You do not have to register in advance -- you can pay at the door. However, it is recommended that you do register in advance.
The Full Package is $198 and includes all three Keynotes and your choice of Afternoon Workshops. If you register for the “Full Package” by January 15, 2010, you will receive a $20 coupon for the FourWinds Academy Booth.
Will there be Free Expo Talks, as in previous years?
Sadly, no, there are no free Expo talks. Our new venue, the Sharonville Convention Center, does not offer as many classrooms as our previous venue, and we have had to drop this offering. However, we have greatly reduced the cost of attending the full conference and you can also sign up for single classes which attract your attention.
Can you tell me more about the Equinox Ceremony?
Firstly, there is no additional charge. If you have paid for either the Conference or the Expo, you are invited to attend!
You will want to bring along approximately 10 stones or tools, in a bag or container that can easily be carried. The stones and tools should not be too precious, not too small, not fragile -- big enough to see easily in dim lighting. The crystals and tools you bring will become charged with the energy drawn in by the ceremony. You can also bring drums and/or rattles. The ceremony will have elements reminiscent of the following: Walking a Labyrinth, Meditation in Community, Shamanism, Drumming, Chanting and Charging the Crystals.
The ceremony begins at 7:30 pm to usher in the Spring Equinox. Your presence and energy are what make it so special.
Do you have opportunities for Volunteers?
Yes, indeed, we will be needing volunteers at this event. In exchange for working a morning (9:30 am – 2 pm) or afternoon session (2 – 7 pm), volunteers receive free weekend admission to the Expo and can attend one Single Afternoon Workshop. If you volunteer for 3 shifts during the weekend, you can substitute one free Keynote for individual Afternoon Workshops.
We have already been asked several times whether it is better to attend the conference or to volunteer. If you are a student or practitioner of Crystals, Shamanism and/or Energy Healing, we recommend that you opt to attend the conference, rather than to volunteer. We have brought in teachers from all over the country to give you an opportunity to learn new skills and the conference has been designed specifically for you.
If you are a crystal lover, or curious about shamanism or energy healing in general, but not intending to actually practice shamanism, energy or crystal healing techniques, then the Expo is designed for you and please volunteer, we need you.
